Dog rose has lobed sepals turning down agains tthe developing hip and then falling off (Field Rose, by contrast, has unlobed sepals which fall off early). The purple thing on the left is actually a developing hip (the sepals in the process of falling).

Dog Rose as you can see has a tufted column reflecting the tufted nature of the styles that were in the flower..

I think this is Hairy Dog Rose because see later image of the hairs on the leaf rachis. Common Dog Rose has hairless rachis. But there are so many hybrids of Dog Rose that I cannot be certain.
